Journaling Prompts for Your Soul

I’m not a mental health professional, just someone who loves a good heart-to-heart with yourself. If you’re struggling, please reach out to a licensed professional.

Feeling a little chaotic? That’s okay. Journaling is like talking to yourself, but with fewer judgments. Pick a column. Spill the tea. Let the chaos flow.

I know my prompts are weird. Just...trust the process.

Daily Mood Check-In

  • Hello, this is your evil twin speaking. Who are we absolutely not going to emotionally ruin today? Be specific. (We totally are...in our mind)

  • Thank you for calling Slice & Dice Juice Shop. Press 1 if you’re sad, 2 if you’re numb, 3 if you’re about to spiral for no reason. How may I direct your blade?

  • If your brain were a group chat, who’s talking the most right now and why are they wrong?

  • Describe your current mood like you’re being interviewed on a true crime documentary.

Self-Reflection & Growth

  • What lesson has life been shoving down your throat that you keep gagging on and refusing to swallow?

  • Write the thought you immediately shove down and replace with “lol anyway.”

  • If your brain had a Yelp review, what would people warn others about?

  • What are you avoiding so hard it’s basically cardio at this point?

Grief, Loss & Things We Don’t Talk About at Brunch

  • What do you miss that makes no sense to miss, but you miss it anyway?

  • Write the thought about your loss that feels “too much” to say out loud, so you joke instead.

  • If grief showed up unannounced at your door today, what would it interrupt?

  • What part of this loss still catches you off guard when you thought you were “over it”?
